Jane began her career with a double degree in Law and Environmental Science. As a solicitor running the Pro Bono Scheme for the Law Society of NSW, she saw many vulnerable clients struggle with mental health issues, feeling limited in how she could help. Working weekends as a Park Ranger in beautiful bushland helped her find balance and recharge.

Parenthood was the catalyst for Jane seeking a new direction, leading her to transition from law to the music industry. She co-founded Footstomp Music alongside her husband, a veteran in the field, and worked to support many prominent Australian artists. Once again, Jane observed an industry struggling with a lack of mental health awareness and support, devastating lives. Her own mental health challenges continued to bubble unresolved, pushed deep beneath the surface to enable her to survive day to day.

Constantly drawn to her deep connection with nature and animals, Jane moved her family from the city to a property overlooking the mountains in the beautiful Tallebudgera Valley. The quiet space provided the environment necessary to navigate her increasingly turbulent internal landscape, beginning a journey of self-discovery and healing
The therapeutic power of nature, art, and animals inspired Jane to explore her vocation as a therapist. She began her journey into mental health by completing her studies as a Counsellor, specialising in Equine Assisted Therapy. In 2019, she founded The Therapy Pod, with support of likeminded therapists. With a deep passion for ongoing learning, Jane trained in Expressive Arts Therapy by The School of Integrative Somatic Psychotherapy and certified in Trauma Informed Sandplay Therapy and Symbol Work and in Sensorimotor Art Therapy (guided drawing) at the Institute for Sensorimotor Art Therapy.

Jane is a late diagnosed neurodivergent individual with rich lived experience that deeply informs her work. She draws from personal insights into navigating complex PTSD, major depressive disorder, ADHD, autism (PDA profile), dyscalculia, addiction and chronic pain conditions. Lived experience allows Jane to approach her clients with empathy, authenticity, and a profound understanding of the complexities of mental health and neurodivergence.

For decades, Jane worked with vulnerable clients in various capacities across multiple industries. Her special interests focus on trauma and neurodiversity, allowing her to provide tailored support that addresses the unique needs of each individual.

Jane describes her therapeutic process as a deeply relational journey, emphasising connections with the self, the therapist, and therapy animals. She prioritises creating a safe and trusting environment to build rapport within the therapeutic relationship. Grounded in attachment theory, Jane guides individuals in cultivating secure connections, addressing the inherent need for belonging and support.

At the heart of Jane's practice is a commitment to reducing the vast expanse between internal conflicting parts, helping clients to integrate their experiences and find harmony within themselves. She also focuses on untangling what may be regarded as normal responses to abnormal environments, facilitating a deeper understanding of their emotions and reactions.
